Outlaw Drags

The excitement of two street ILLEGAL cars racing around Elko Speedway for the winning title on October 11th left the crowd roaring and it was also known as the birth of a new division of spectator drags at the legendary Eve of Destructions called Outlaw Drags.

Any car, whether a full blown indy or a souped up corvette, is allowed to participate in the Outlaw Drags coming to Elko Speedway's Eve of Destruction events in 2009. Beginning April 18, trailers with Outlaw Drag cars will be encouraged to pull into the pits area to avoid regulation from local enforcement.

Each car will be paired up with one of equal ability and may the best man win! A flip of a coin will determine whether the cars will race towards turn one or turn three to limit the left hand turn advantage around the 3/8 mile track. The two out of three race will begin with a standing start and will alternate directions each time the cars race around the track.

This new class of spectator drags will not only heighten the excitement for the audience, but the expansion will also draw drivers from around the Midwest to compete in this new division to see the checkers.
