Wolff Howls to Victory in Late Models at Elko Speedway

ELKO-NEW MARKET, MN (August 29, 2026) – Jeremy Wolff ended a winless streak as he excited the crowd with the in the NASCAR Late Models at Elko Speedway. Byran Wrolstad and Wolff led the 18-car field to the green in the first of two Late Model Feature of the night. Wolff would edge Wrolstad across the line on lap two as the front pair staged an epic side-by-side race for the lead. Michael Ostdiek tried to keep up with the front pair has he held third ahead of another good battle for fourth featuring Chad Walen and Jacob Goede. Wrolstad would reclaim the lead with five laps remaining, but two laps later, Wolff edged his way back into the lead. Wolff would hold off Wrolstad at the checkers to claim his first win of the season. Goede move past Ostdiek with one lap remaining to take home third.
Chris Marek improved his Championship hopes as he won the second NASCAR Late Model feature. Grant Brown fresh off his win in Behrens Memorial a couple of weeks ago, took command from the drop of the green. Colin Stocker started alongside Brown and challenged early for the lead. Billy Mohn stepped things up and by lap three, he moved to the runner up spot. Stocker would bring out the race’s lone caution at the halfway point when was spun in turn four. The restart tightened the field and by the time the next lap was completed, Marek emerged as the new race leader. Walen and Goede would also step things up late in the race to make it interesting. Goede took over second with four laps to go and he quickly cut into Marek’s lead. Goede closed to less than a cars length with one lap to go and slipped a bit as he went through the final turn, allowing Marek to take the win. Walen finished third with Mohn and Brown rounding out the top five.
Dillon Sellner had yet another remarkable race as he won the first of two NASCAR Thunder Car features. Brent Kane took the lead from the get-go as Julie Jorgenson challenged early. Allen Royle moved up to contend, but on lap five, the pair would tangle to bring out the lone yellow flag of the race. When the green waved again, Kane and Sellner ran alongside each other for several laps before Sellner took the lead on lap 11. Kane stayed close as he sought to retake the lead. The front pair would make contact with two laps remaining, but Sellner was the car to beat as he took the win by a car length over Kane. Tom Sorem finished third, with Dusty Mann and Michael Gilomen completing the top five.
Brent Kane would score career win number 155 in the second NASCAR Thunder Car feature. Dusty Mann, driving Gary West’s car for the night grabbed the lead from the pole and never looked back as he distanced himself from Kane and Sellner in the cautionless race. Mann would be first to the checkers, but failed the post-race inspection, boosting Kane to the win. Sellner would be elevated to second ahead of Sorem, Gilomen and Todd Kamish.
Jimmie Jorgenson came out on top in the first NASCAR Powerstock feature. Payton Letcher took the lead from the drop of the green. It was a short stay at the front however as Donovan Michaud then took over on lap two. Meanwhile, Jorgenson was slowly picking his way toward the front. On lap eight, he pulled alongside Michaud and one lap later, he nosed his car ahead at the line to take the lead. Clayton Dorner followed Jorgenson and shortly thereafter, he was in second. Adam Gerlach joined the fold, and it was a three car chase at the front. Jorgenson held his ground to take the win followed closely by Dorner and Gerlach. Mike Stoer took fourth with Michaud finishing fifth.
Jesse Fischer finished sixth in the first NASCAR Powerstock feature, but he turned things around in a big way as he won the second feature of the night. Fischer and Dan Streiff ran side-by-side from the start, with Fischer showing the way. Streiff would move by on lap six and hold the top spot for a few circuits, before Fischer wrestled his way back into lead on lap nine. Gerlach would step up in the final few laps as he worked his way into second. Fischer held strong and finished with Gerlach right behind. Jorgenson would cap off the night in third finishing ahead of Streiff and Stoer.
Frank Jirik was rewarded with the win in the first of two Legend Car features on the night. Things got off to a wild start as Robby Carter spun on the opening lap, prompting a full restart. When the race got going, Cole Forland moved by Devon Johnson to take the lead. Meanwhile, Tristan Swanson came through the field and on lap five he took over at the front of the field. Jirik would follow Swanson’s charge to the front as he moved to second. Swanson would finish a car length ahead of Jirik, Justice Doubrava, Carter and Riley Goodwin. However, Swanson and Doubrava both failed post-race inspection. This elevated Jirik to the win. Carter rebounded after his early race spin to take second ahead of Goodwin, Christopher Flynn and Greg Erhardt.
Tristan Swanson turned in an impressive run has won the second Legend Car feature. After a false start and a spin on the first laps the third attempt at a start was successful as Adam Gerlach took the lead. Swanson flew through the field and on lap 3 he took the lead. Gerlach and Jirik would make contact shortly thereafter, prompting a caution. On the restart it was Swanson showing the way with Doubrava mounting a challenge. Erhardt spun on the frontstretch to bring out another yellow. When the action picked back up Swanson and Doubrava were still out front with Carter in third. Carter would drive into turn four a little too hard to bring out the final caution just before the halfway point of the race. As the green waved the final time, Swanson was able to pull away from Doubrava as he went untouched the rest of the way for the win. Doubrava finished second, while Jirik came back though the field to take third. Goodwin finished fourth while Carter rebounded as well to finish fifth.
Rev Heitkamp was the fast qualifier in the Bandos and he showed that speed as he won the first Bando feature. Andrew Brelje and Easten Chaffee each took wins in the B features. After a few wild starts, feature number one finally got rolling as Christopher Flynn took the lead ahead of Roman Crow, Heitkamp and Caleb Hawes. Theo Crow’s spin just past the midpoint of the race bunched the field one more time. When the race went green, Heitkamp was in front. Roman Crow, Hawes and Aiden Kubiszeski ran right behind. Heitkamp would scoot to the win, finishing over four car lengths ahead of Roman Crow. Caleb Hawes, Kubiszeski and Adriana Hawes.
Christopher Flynn got back to the front in the second Bando feature and this time he stayed there as he took the win. Caleb Hawes showed the way early on as Heitkamp gunning for another win, ran next to him. Heitkamp would take the lead just before the caution flew for Ryan Kamish Jr, who lost a wheel on the front stretch. Heitkamp took the restart, but two laps later, the yellow would fly again after James Dougherty and Allison Brelje spun in turn one. On the final restart, Heitkamp held the spot, but Flynn would take it away. Once in front, Flynn completed the final few laps to grab his 7th win of the season. Heitkamp would lose a wheel on the final lap and limp home to finish six. Adriana Hawes would seize the moment to take second with Caleb Hawes in third.
